Good Mood Food event at The Green House Hotel
I was honoured to be chosen by the Green House Hotel in Bournemouth to create a Taster Event evening with their head chef on “Good Mood Food”
The evening started with a talk about my principles of a positive mental health diet followed by a 5 course taster menu, which you can read about below.
My Healthy Living Principles for Positive Mental Health:
Aim for 80% / 20% rule (80% great food and 20% what you like)
Eat at regular intervals to keep the blood sugar levels even
Aim for 1.5-2Litre of water daily (in between meals)
Exercise Daily
Get natural vitamin D and walk in the sunshine
Eat Good Mood Foods daily to help you stay positive and my top 5 are: Mango, Cress, Pineapple, Greens (chard, kale, spinach), Green Tea
Variety is good – Aim for 100 varieties of food every month
Spice it up – Add turmeric, pepper, ginger to your meals to boost flavour and your immune system
Twist it! Lemon is high in vitamin to help your skin produce collagen
Be consistent! Clean eating and exercise is the powerful lifestyle key to long-term health.
